BIOGRAPHY
My name is Kathleen and I was born on January 16, 1989 in Spijkenisse, near Rotterdam. From an early age, I had a passion for horses. At the age of seven, I started riding and when I turned eleven I got my first horse. I enjoyed showjumping and eventing, but eventually turned to dressage. Over the years, I competed several horses up to ZZ-Z level.
After my school period, I decided to continue in the equestrian industry. I launced my photography company in 2014 and also obtained my ORUN level 4 instruction diploma. Because I wanted to learn more and take a step up within the equestrian sector, I studied Equine Business & Economics in college. After my first year on Van Hall & Larenstein University of Applied Sciences in Wageningen, I started my internship at Stal van Silfhout. I felt very much at home in this stable and remained the permanent groom of international dressagerider Diederik van Silfhout. After a wonderful period in which I accompanied horses to the European Championships in Aachen in 2015 and the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, my parner and I moved to the south of my country.
Today we live in West-Brabant, in a village called Oud Gastel to be precise. In addition to my work as a photographer and a parttime showgroom, I run a dressage stable and breeding farm called Hoeve Noordenwind, together with my partner. A number of foals are born here every year and we train horses. We also regularly have talented horses for sale, mostly bred by us. At the moment we are still renovating the characteristic farm.
